Privacy statement
1. Who is responsible for your data
Vanitha's Home Kitchen, Van Swindensingel 56B, 3112 RK Schiedam, the Netherlands (KvK 94535922) is the controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@vkitchen.nl or +31 6 47597672.
2. How this website works
This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or tracking, and does not send anything you type to a server of ours. When you build an order, the choices you make stay in your own browser. Pressing Continue in WhatsApp composes a message and opens it in your own WhatsApp app, where you decide whether to send it. If you never send it, we never receive it.
3. What we receive
When you send us an order or enquiry, we receive: your name, your WhatsApp phone number, your preferred date, whether you want pickup or delivery, your delivery address if you choose delivery, and any notes you add. Notes may include allergy or dietary information, which counts as health data.
4. Why we use it, and on what basis
- To prepare and deliver your order — necessary to perform our agreement with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Allergy and dietary information — we use this only to cook your order safely, and only because you chose to tell us. This is your explicit consent for health data (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time, though we then cannot take your allergy into account.
- Our administration — to meet Dutch tax and bookkeeping obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
5. Who else is involved
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) — your message reaches us through WhatsApp, so Meta processes it under its own terms. See the WhatsApp privacy policy. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, email or call us instead.
- Our WhatsApp channel — we publish menus and Sunday specials on an optional WhatsApp channel. Following it is separate from ordering, and channel followers are anonymous: we cannot see who follows us or their phone numbers. You can unfollow at any time.
- Our hosting provider — this site is hosted by Hostinger, whose servers keep standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
6. How long we keep it
We keep order messages for as long as we need them to handle your order and any follow-up. Invoices and records that fall under the Dutch tax retention obligation are kept for seven years. We delete what we no longer need.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it, and you can ask for it in a portable form. Email info@vkitchen.nl and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
8. Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
